Vintage Ruby and Diamond Ring, c.1970s

This vintage 1970s era ring is set in hand-engraved 18 carat yellow gold with an enticing combination rubies and diamonds. A deep red, faceted, oval-shaped ruby set at the ring’s centre is flanked to either side by a pair of round brilliant cut diamonds set vertically in decorative mountings, and set at each shoulder with another ruby, producing a ring reminiscent of earlier times. The luscious rubies have a combined weight of 1.35 carat, and the diamonds total 0.20 carat. The round brilliant diamonds are estimated G in colour and VS in clarity, and are grain set within a figure-8 patterning in the metal, which is hand crafted.
