Late Art Deco Diamond and Multi-Gem Butterfly Brooch, c.1930s

This vintage 1930s butterfly brooch is set with a whimsical combination of diamonds, green garnets, pink sapphires, blue sapphires and a pearl.
Her colourful wings glisten with a beautiful array of old cut stones; which include green garnets, diamonds, pink sapphires and champagne diamonds. All are pavΓ© set in 18 carat white gold with a lovely millegrain-detailed edge.
Her body is comprised of 18 carat yellow gold of a baroque pearl, representing her abdomen. A coronet cluster consisting of a cabochon sapphire and eight cut diamonds, represents her thorax. A pair of deep pink, old cut sapphires represent the butterflyβs eyes and an old cut sapphire embellishes the tip of each of her antennae.
The diamonds, have a combined weight of 1.30 carat, and the multi-gemstones have a combined weight of 1.00 carat.
This delightful vintage brooch comes in its original vintage box and is finished with a secure bar and hook fitting.
