Vintage French Enamel and Emerald Bird Brooch, c.1940s

This fabulous 1940s bird brooch is beautifully enamelled. Great detail went into the white spotted enamel feathers, while the tail is a jet black enamel. The eye is a round cut 0.05 carat emerald, adding a colour contrast to the rusty colour of the feathers. The 18 carat gold body is intricately carved to give the texture of down on the bird’s abdomen. It is delicately perched on an 18 carat yellow gold branch. This a charming brooch, perfect for any bird enthusiast!
