Vintage 0.08ct Diamond and Emerald Lion Brooch, c.1970s
In stock
A fun and quirky lion brooch, designed by the talented René Kern, dates back to 1970s. Strands of gold are strategically placed to create the lions unruly mane as well as its whiskers and the end of its tail. Adding to the quirkiness of this vintage brooch is the lion’s one eye created using a small single emerald and four diamonds totalling to 0.08 carats. The other eye has been patched up with a bandage in the form of an X. Black enamelling has been used to create the lions nose and the body of the lion has been carved to add a realistic texture which imitates the lions fur. This admirable brooch, weighs a total of 20.9 grams and has been fitted with a double pin back.
