Victorian 1.40ct Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Ring, c.1880s

Dating from the 1880s, this three stone sapphire and diamond ring exemplifies Victorian era style. This beautiful piece centres a 1.40 carat deep blue, oval-shaped sapphire between a pair of old cut diamonds . They are G in colour and VS in clarity, and total to 1.40 carat. The gems are punctuated by two pairs of rose cut diamonds, with one further rose cut set at either shoulder. The ring’s handmade 18 carat yellow gold setting is rich with emblematic period details, including a scrolling gallery and elaborately-carved shoulders.
