Victorian Diamond and Ruby Bird Brooch, c.1880s

This delicate brooch is in the shape of a swallow, and is a beautiful piece from the Victorian era. It features grain set, old cut diamonds which make up the body of the bird, and the wings. The diamonds are estimated to be G-H colour and SI clarity. They are set in silver, which is plated on top of 18 carat yellow gold. The definition of the hand crafted piece is pronounced through the little 0.01 carat rubies which make the eyes. It’s a very sweet piece of jewellery, which is the ideal gift. Dating back to 1880s, it as lasted a life time!
