Victorian 0.78ct Diamond Grouse Brooch, c.1880s

Crafted by hand in the likeness of a Grouse, this wonderful brooch dated back to the 1880s. A total of 0.78 carat in diamonds encrust the bird design. These diamonds comprise mostly of rose cuts, with 0.08 carat of old cut diamonds at the centre. The diamonds match in quality at H in colour and VS in clarity with each delicately grain set into silver. A single cabochon ruby adds further detail to the piece forming the grouses eye. This delightful piece has been backed in 18 carat yellow gold with a simple, yet sturdy pin brooch keeping it firmly in place for the wearer.
