René Kern 0.75ct Diamond, Ruby and Emerald Bird Brooch, c.1920s

This beautifully intricate brooch from René Kern is shaped in the likeness of a bird sat atop a branch. Crafted in 18 carat yellow gold, the bird is brought to life with coloured enamelling across its wings and head, as well as diamonds set across its breast. The eight cut diamonds total 0.75 carat and are set into platinum. All diamonds match in quality at F in colour and VS in clarity. A single 0.10 carat marquise cut ruby glistens as the birds eye. The stunningly detailed branch the bird holds features an additional gem, a single 0.15 carat emerald is set adding further character to this wonderful piece.
