Late Victorian Natural Pearl and Diamond Cluster Ring, c.1910
In stock
This delicate and ornate cluster ring has a lovely pearl centre stage. It measures 5.9mm and has been tested as a natural pearl, saltwater. It has a wonderful symmetry and colour which is expertly highlight by the cluster of old cut diamonds surrounding. The old cut diamonds have a total weight of 1.60 carats, with an approximate grading of G in colour and VS2 in clarity. The cluster is done with a halo design, elevating the pearl to a level of perfection.
The old cut diamonds within the halo are secured using a claw setting, and the collets which hold the diamonds in place are made of platinum. This contrasts beautifully with the 18 carat yellow gold band, and was a typical design feature of late Victorian jewellery. The diamonds allow their true colour to shine through set in the white platinum, and the pearl sits comfortably in the centre.
