Late Deco 1.40ct Diamond and Sapphire Target Ring, c.1940s

An impressive 1.40 carat old cut diamond is enveloped in rings of sapphires and diamonds in this Late Deco target ring. The sparkling central diamond has a colour between G and H and a clarity of VS1. It is rub over set with milgrain detailing across the setting, then surrounding circle of sapphires totals to 0.64 carat of intricately placed french cut stones, creating the unbroken ring of vivid blue amongst the clean white of the diamonds and platinum setting. A diamond halo completes the target, featuring a further 0.26 carat of round brilliant diamonds. These additional diamonds all match in quality at F in colour and VS in clarity. An intricately crafted open basket allows plenty of light behind the stones really allowing them to shine. Split shoulders lead into a band of platinum finishing the design immaculately in this 1940s piece.
