Edwardian 0.25ct Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring, c.1910s

This delightful Edwardian cluster ring centres around a 0.25 carat sapphire, surrounded by sparkling old cut diamonds. The blue sapphire is an emerald cut stone, rub over set into a platinum head.  The surrounding old cut diamonds both encircle the sapphire and flow down each shoulder. Totalling 0.56 carat, the diamonds match in quality at G in colour and VS in clarity, offering a brilliant contrast to the vibrant blue sapphire. The platinum head and shoulders, sit upon a basket and band hand crafted in 18 carat yellow gold, a metal combination classic of the 1910s.
