Art Deco Diamond Drop Pendant Necklace, c.1920s

Made all in platinum and dating to the 1920s, this is a stunning diamond necklace. At the bottom of the drop sits a 1.78 carat diamond within a claw collet. It is a beautiful old cut diamond and has been estimated as a J in colour and VS1 in clarity. In the centre of the necklace, within the art deco detailing of metal work, there are a cluster of diamonds weighing 0.75 carat in total. Reaching the top of the necklace, there is another single old cut diamond weighing 0.55 carat.  The surrounding diamonds match the main diamond for colour quality and range in clarity from VS to SI in clarity. They are intricately set and the piece is finished with a mill-grain edge. It hangs from two points on a platinum chain with a bolt ring clasp.
