Vintage 3.60ct Tanzanite and Diamond Necklace, c.1960s

The pear shaped necklace has an impressive tanzanite centre stone which is a luscious blue in colour. It weighs 3.60 carat and is beautifully highlighted by a halo of diamonds which are round brilliants. Dating to approximately the 1960s, the diamonds are held in place with a rub over setting using 18 carat white gold. There are 16 diamonds in total which halo the tanzanite, and one on the bail which attaches to the chain. The combined diamond weight is 1.38 carat and they are estimated G in colour and VS2 in clarity. It’s a beautiful necklace which sits wonderfully upon the chest. It has a slightly open back setting as well, to allow the light to truly make the stones sparkle. This necklace would make a lovely gift!
